1962 – 2012
Raymond D. Kreth passed away early on 18 October 2012. He worked in the College for 26 years as a highly-regarded instrumentation engineer for the Ocean Mixing Group, his first and only job following an MS (Physics) at UO.
He was a resourceful engineer who saved many a seagoing experiment. He participated in the thrilling highs of bringing new instruments to life and some of the embarrassing lows that go with this. Regardless of conditions, Ray could be counted on to rise to a challenge – providing technical expertise or simply lending a helping hand.
He was our friend. His talents and character will be missed.
Ray leaves his wife Mylrea, son Quintin and daughter Veda.
